Founded in 1993, NAHMMA is an established group of hazardous materials management professionals.  The purpose of NAHMMA is to advance education, foster communication, encourage policy development, recognize exemplary programs and provide professional development opportunities.

The association has over 400 members, 9 regional chapters, and hosts an annual conference.  NAHMMA also conducts specialized training for hazardous materials managers and technicians at its annual conference and through its regional chapters.
